G.I.Y (glam. it . yourself)

I Loved Ella's last post where she transformed bog standard jeans into amazing distressed shorts. So inspired by her post I decided to start a tradition that I’m sure Ella will be happy to join in with. So i introduce you to GLAM.IT.YOURSELF!... G.I.Y for short :)
I had this really oversized vest top that i just didn’t wear so I decided to transform it into a fashionable fringed top. I don’t feel like i need to explain what you need to do so i will let the pics explain for me ...

Very plain and boring ...
Snip  snip snip ..
Tada ! (shorts: gillyhicks, bag: urban outfitters)
                                                                  Messy but so worth it

This is a no nail biting zone

I've been growing my nails lately and refuse to bite them when bored or when watching a scary movie. The best way for me to stop the habit is by painting them amazing colours but as I’m back at school i have had to cooperate and do very natural but fun nails so here are a few pics of my nails i have been wearing to school and the varnishes i have used.

Too cool for school

So I’m back at the most amazing place in the world ... School.

So boohoo back at school but I guess it’s not too bad, at least its my last year of school before college; although this time next year i know i will be saying 'I wish I was back at school'... too much. I've been thinking how much I want to be little again , I have some baby pictures that aren't too embarassing to show you also.
Right I have homework and what not to crack on with so here are some pics i've got to show you!

It's people there, to comb your hair

just after having cut them
turned up and before bleaching & fraying (I don't normally take pictures of my behind hehe)
The final result :-)

Yesterday I decided to unleash the DIY diva in me. After having worked at the market with my neighbour, he said I could take any piece of clothing I wanted. I took a few shirts for my Dad, but most importantly a pair of Levi's jeans. If you know me you know that the only jeans I wear are skinny, and these were bootcut. So, I decided to make my very own pair of levi's cut off, a true essential in anyone's wardrobe in my opinion. I started by cutting the legs off to the length that I wanted (even if it's too long, you can always roll them up). Then, I tried them on to see if it was right, and as you can see, they look quite alright rolled up. But I wanted a "distressed look" , so next I frayed the edges with a pair of scissors. Then, I filled a big bowl with warm water and a cap full of bleach, and put the shorts in. You can leave them in as long as you want, but I left them for about 40mins to 1 hour, & this is how they turned out, I think they look pretty good.

You are beautiful in every single way

After stumbling across the amazing beauty blog which is www.babyassface.com , it inspired me to try a lot more home remedies against dull skin, greasy skin, spots, dry hair, and other things like that. I myself have combination skin, but I am prone to breakouts sometimes, & my hair is thick, dry and damaged. So I was going through her remedies and I saw a recipe for a scrub made of butter and salt, which was supposed to reduce the size of pores. Being so heavily praised on her blog, I tried it, being home alone & no one watching, & having nothing to lose. So I applied it as she said, but the hard bit was taking it off. As predicted, the butter was soooo hard to remove, even just from my hands! My pores appeared a little bit smaller, but it really wasn't worth having to smell butter for 8 hours afterwards..
So I won't be trying that trick again, but other than that her blog is really worth looking at!

As no picture is adequate for this, here's just a few pictures from weheartit.com , again.
Does anyone have any beauty recipes I could try? What beauty blogs do you like?
